8.5mm x 18mm beads
Amethyst is a purple variety of quartz, and is found in many locations worldwide, including Brazil and Uruguay. Varieties include Chevron Amethyst, which has banding of white quartz in, and Ametrine.
Amethyst first became known as a crystal to protect against drinking and addiction when the Greeks used it as a talisman against drunkenness. Their legend goes that the drunken God Dionysus set his tiger on the young Amethysta and then, realizing what he had done, turned her into a giant clear quartz crystal. His tears of remorse then stained the clear quartz purple, creating Amethyst.

- "Nature's Tranquilizer"Rutile is seldom sold as a crystal on its own. It is usually seen as an inclusion in Quartz. It gets its name from the Latin word for reddish, ‘rutilus.’ Tiny needles of rutile inside other crystals is what causes the star effect, or asterism, in star crystals such as star rose quartz, star sapphire, and others.
